President's Corner

Hello everyone, I’m Andrew Benkovich. Many of you already know me as the

Poppy Chair, which I have been for many years. I approach you now as the new

President of Stony Plain Branch 256. I come into this position as our President Robert

Stumber resigned suddenly for health reasons. I wish to thank Robert for his service to

the branch.

I wish to be clear on one item in particular. I agree with Robert’s and Daryl’s

opinion, and I believe that of the Executive as a whole, that the branch has been caught

up in persistent petty criticisms that are not helpful to the well-being of the branch. As a

result, we seem to have lost sight of our primary mission in serving our veterans. I will

do my best to listen to any concerns and issues raised, and deal with them in a

respectful matter. I hope these issues can be put aside and we can collectively move

forward as a branch.

We are a great branch, blessed with a good membership and wonderful

volunteers, and we give a lot back to the community. Let’s focus on the good that we do

and let’s help our veterans.
