Happy March, everyone!

We are now three months into our term as the new Executive, and I’m pleased to say we are already seeing positive results and hearing encouraging feedback from members.

One of our key priorities has been updating and clarifying Branch governance. Our new House Rules have now been approved and posted, and the updated Bylaws were presented to the General Membership on February 24 and will be voted on on March 17.

In addition, we are reviewing and documenting other processes and procedures to ensure members clearly understand how things operate within the Branch.

This Executive is committed to transparency in everything we do, so members can feel confident they are informed and engaged in the direction of the Branch. I strongly encourage everyone to attend meetings whenever possible, hear the discussions firsthand, and make your voice heard.

Looking ahead, preparations are underway for the rededication of our Cenotaph on June 28, following the repairs to its foundation.

We are also planning a larger celebration in mid-August to mark both our Branch’s 75th Anniversary and the Legion’s 100th Anniversary. More details will be shared as plans develop.

 And there is much more to come over the next few months — from dinners, dancing, and karaoke, to the return of our Burger and Steak Nights as the warmer months roll in.

Though not yet finished, the work includes re-painting the posts; re-attaching the gutter; getting the centre flagpole back into operation; re-sealing the exposed aggregate; and re-painting the yellow lines.
